Chad Williamson, CFP®

Managing Partner

Chad Williamson serves as a Managing Partner for Gratus Wealth Advisors. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional with more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career through BB&T’s Leadership Development Program and most recently served as a Wealth Advisor with Truist before joining Gratus.

Chad earned his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University studying international business and Spanish. He currently serves on the board of directors and finance committee for the Historic Virginia Land Conservancy.

Chad is passionate about mentoring the next generation and serves with the youth group at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. Chad met the love of his life, Ali, during their time at JMU and they have been married for almost 12 years. They welcomed their daughter, Hana, in May of 2021. Ali and Chad love to travel, spend time with family, and invest in the youth at their church. Hawaii is a regular destination whenever possible.

Certified Financial PlannersTM (CFP®) are licensed by the CFP® Board to use the CFP® mark. CFP® certification requirements include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, completion of the financial planning education requirements set by the CFP® Board (www.cfp.net), successful completion of the CFP® Certification Exam, comprised of two three-hour sessions, experience requirement: 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process, or 4,000 hours of Apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements, successfully pass the Candidate Fitness Standards and background check, agree annually to be bound by CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, and complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years, including two hours on the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
