Chad Williamson, CFP®

Managing Partner

Chad Williamson serves as a Managing Partner for Gratus Wealth Advisors. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career through BB&T’s Leadership Development Program and then as a Wealth Advisor with Truist before joining Cline Reasor as he started Gratus.

Chad earned his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University studying international business and Spanish. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation and serves with the youth group and as a Deacon at the Virginia Beach Community Chapel. Chad met his wife, Ali, during their time at JMU and they have been married for almost 15 years. They welcomed their daughter in May of 2021. Ali and Chad love to travel, evenings at the beach, and spending time with family. Hawaii is a regular destination.

Certified Financial PlannersTM (CFP®) are licensed by the CFP® Board to use the CFP® mark. CFP® certification requirements include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, completion of the financial planning education requirements set by the CFP® Board (www.cfp.net), successful completion of the CFP® Certification Exam, comprised of two three-hour sessions, experience requirement: 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process, or 4,000 hours of Apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements, successfully pass the Candidate Fitness Standards and background check, agree annually to be bound by CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, and complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years, including two hours on the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
